Once, movement used to be an integral part of everyday life to a much greater extent than it is today. I'm not even talking about the period when we hunted for food with our own hands or picked it somewhere in the forest when leaving the cave. I'm not talking about so long ago, but about the time some twenty years ago when our children, like ourselves, played more hide and seek, border guards, ice queen, 1,2,3, and less sat at computers or "hanging" for hours on mobile phones. Today, that's exactly why we go to training sessions, that is, we practice twice or thrice a week in a gym or somewhere independently. We replaced smaller doses of frequent daily movement with more intense, less frequent but more demanding exercises and activities for our body. Since we can't "cram" (because that's what we do) everything we need into those 60 minutes of exercise, we often skip a lot. We skip the warm-up, but much worse - those ordinary posturally important simple exercises, as well as those that are popularly called "non-sexy" and very boring exercises for the joints - all that prepares our body not only for that training three times a week, but also for life. Quality life without pain. Namely, it has become normal that your back hurts for years due to "genetics", that your back is like a "squeezed pretzel", that you cannot stand straight or raise your arms above your head, that your hip skips and causes discomfort when climbing stairs, that you wake up stiff… Errrrm – NO – NONE of the above is normal, or at least it shouldn't be taken for granted. The body cries out for daily movement much more than for three times a week hard core training where you kill both yourself and your will to live, or else you are not that type, but you are extra tense, so you train even more intensively, bringing too much stress to your body and mind, which usually results injury and interruption of training - and so on in a circle. All this kills the key thing - motivation. It's no wonder that one of the most common questions I get in my Instagram inbox is: "Andrea, how do I motivate myself to get going?". To begin with, let's all collectively understand that we need to move every day for our health. That it's a walk. Light mountain climbing. Light stretching. Some exercise for hand, shoulder, hip, foot mobility, one that you can easily do while cooking lunch or watching your favourite series. Health means not only how we look on the outside or how we keep on the outside, but also everything that happens inside with our metabolism. How do our organs work and are they well trained to keep us alive? Do we have enough energy? Are we in a good or bad mood? Can we concentrate? Everything that is defined, for example, by the hormones that are produced in our body, is conditioned, among other things, by our movement. The outside is only more visible; however, when it is not optimized it is equally dangerous for a continuous decline in the quality of our life. Perhaps it would not be a bad idea to include 10-minute short exercises for body mobility and thus posture every day, so that our thrice-weekly workouts become not only easier but also less dangerous To make it easier for ourselves, by adding up those 10 minutes a day, we will get 3650 minutes a year, which is 60 hours more than the current 0. And when I mention posture, I don't just mean that it's not a problem for us to stand upright in the context of bones and musculature, but to hold stand up straighter with pride that you stood up for yourself and took that minimum of time, thereby making your life more beautiful, happier and absolutely longer.
